Offering “Support Methods for Online Consultation(English version)” (A4/88 pages in total) for free

OVA, nonprofit organization, identify youths who have a high risk of suicide in each area through our search advertising and provide them consultation on the internet using e-mail, LINE and so on. We are also doing research. We are based in Tokyo mainly.

It is expected that family issues such as domestic violence and child abuse will increase and people who have difficulties of life caused by unemployment and bankruptcy will also increase because of COVID-19.
On the other hand, we are worried that we are in the social situation that people in need can not receive support because some consultation facilities stop providing or scale down face-to-face counselling.

In the light of the situation, we offer “Support Methods for Online Consultation(English version)” (A4/88 pages in total)”, which was summarized about the knowledge of consultation on the internet that we have provided since 2013, to those who are social workers, mental health counselors, and human service professionals and think about introducing and advancing consultation on the internet for free.

We hope you will find the guidelines useful to advance consultation on the internet and we also hope that we live in the society where everybody can receive social support as needed.
